Betty L. Crumpton, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away at home with her loving family at her side after a long battle with cancer Tuesday, July 14, 2009. She was born June 24, 1930, the daughter of the late Avery and Martha Morgan. She worked for Sears Credit Central for 32 years before retiring. She was united in marriage to Earl E. Crumpton on Jan. 27, 1970. He preceded her in death in December of 1997. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, Michael J. Katshor.
Mrs. Crumpton was an active member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church in Cumming, Sears Retirees Club, and a member of the Gainesville New Comers Club. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, April and Bruce Kingsbury; daughter-in-law, Carol Katshor; sister, Bonnie Wheat; nephew, Wade Wheat; niece, Martha Hubbard, all of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Bryan Kingsbury of Chicago, Ill., Melessa and Kevin Gaeth of Gainesville, Ben Katshor of Benson, Ariz., Damion Mathews of Gainesville; great-granddaughters, Riley and Taylor Gaeth; sister-in-law, Cindy Crumpton of Roswell.
The service celebrating her life will be Thursday, July 16, at 2 p.m. in the
Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Wilkie officiating. A private family inurnment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens at a later date. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 15, from 5-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harmony Grove Baptist Church, 5470 Keith Bridge Rd., Cumming, GA 30040 or to Compassionate Care Hospice, 1435 Haw Creek Circle, Ste. 402, Cumming, GA 30041.
