Betty Mercer Keown, beloved widow, mother, grandmother and sister passed away peacefully after her battle with cancer Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016 in Cumming, at the age of 74.
Betty is survived by her two children, April Keown McDowell, and Bobby Keown of Cumming; grandson, Sean McDowell of Cumming; three sisters, Lorna Robinson of Shelbyville, Ky., Janet Shrewsbury, Pam Taul both of McQuady, Ky.; and her brother, Burns Mercer of Hardinsburg, Ky.
She is preceded in death by her father, Ed Mercer; and mother, Kathryn Mercer both of Hardinsburg, Ky.; and her husband, Bill Keown, who passed in 2003.
Betty was born on Nov. 30, 1941 in Hardinsburg, Ky. She is a graduate of Breckingridge County High School in Hardinsburg.
Services will be held in Cumming, on Oct. 5, at Lanier United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. and at Cave Spring United Methodist Church in Westview, Ky., on Oct. 8, at 10:30 CST, both with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Betty's life.
