Bonnie W. Garner


Bonnie W. Garner, age 84, of Cumming passed away Monday, July 16, 2012. He was a member of Cumming Second Baptist Church for 50 years and served as the chairman of the deacon board. He also was the Sunday school superintendent for many years. He was a corporal in the United States Army serving in Korea as an Army engineer. He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Garner; grandson, Kevin Garner; stepson, Charles Edwards; stepdaughter, Rachel Jackson; brothers, Nay Garner, James Garner; sister, Latrelle Holtzclaw.
He is survived by his children, Nelson (Harriette) Garner of Cumming, David Garner of Oxford, Wayne Garner of Dahlonega, Kenneth (Linda) Garner of Cumming; twin sister, Bunnie Dishroon; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 18, at 4 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Sam Rickett, the Rev. Alan Swafford and the Rev. Mark Bottoms officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Tuesday, July 17, from 4-9 p.m. and Wednesday, July 18, from 9 a.m. until hour of service.
