Mr. Braskin "Rabbit" Ivey, age 84, of Gainesville (Forsyth County) passed away Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2008. He was a member of Mayfield Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his brother, Emmett Ivey; and niece, Judy Bennett. He was a lifetime employee of several chicken hatcheries.
Survivors include his brothers and sister-in-law, Duffy and Bernice Ivey of Cumming, Bud and Marie Ivey of Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Frank Cornell of Gainesville; nieces, Brenda Cagle of Gainesville, Hilda Amos of Cumming, Pamela Strickland of Gainesville; nephews, Tony Cagle of Gainesville, Jack Ivey and James Ivey, both of Cumming; several great-nieces, great-nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Blackburn and the Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Mayfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday, Oct. 9, from 2-9 p.m.
