Brenda Faye Long Pilcher, 65, of Gainesville went home to be with her Savior and Lord Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013. Born in Atlanta, she was the daughter of Willie Strickland Long and the late Rev. Hubert Long Jr.
The Guest Book is expired.
She is also survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Ben Pilcher; daughters, Angie (Rob) Smith of Cumming, Heather (Chris) Wainscott of Pinellas Park, Fla.; six grandchildren, Briana, R.J. and Trenton Smith, Steven, Kayla and Josh Wainscott, all of whom loved their Nanny very much; her sisters, Linda Stanfield of St. Simons Island, Sherry (Otha) Chapman of Powder Springs, Donna (Jimmy) Deaton of Douglasville; numerous nieces and nephews, and a multitude of cousins also survive.
Brenda loved her Lord, loved her family and liked nothing more than a family reunion that included everybody being together, laughing, eating and of course, there had to be some singing. Now, Brenda is singing with the angels.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 1, at 2 p.m. in Davis-Struempf Chapel. Visitation with the family will be held before the service on Friday beginning at noon.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." Psalms 91: 1-2
