Buck Jones, 70, of Cumming passed away Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. He was the son of Earl and Mildred Johnson, born May 1, 1940, in Weeksbury, Ky. Mr. Jones served two tours of duty in Vietnam and retired with 20 years of service in the United States Army. He served in law enforcement for 20 years with eight years spent as chief of police in Cumming. He was a Christian and active member of Concord Baptist Church and Etowah Lodge #222 F&AM in Dawsonville.
He is survived by his wife, Treva Neal Jones of Cumming; son, Steven (Cecila) Jones of Cumming; son, Billy (Claire) Herring Mishawaka, Ind.; daughter, Kathi (James) Mathews of Lexington; daughter, Terri (Frank) Goss of Dahlonega; daughter, Sandra Furcron of Lexington; brother, Marvin (Sandra) Jones of Florida; sister, Jean (Bobby) Johnson of Weeksbury, Ky.; sister, Anna Ruth (Garland) Thornsbury of Weeksbury, Ky.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Sept. 26, at Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Lester Cooper officiating.
