Mr. Carl Eggleston, age 73, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009. Mr. Eggleston was a member of First Baptist Church of Cumming, where he served as a deacon and was a choir member. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and the United States Air Force.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Gladys Eggleston; and sisters, Edith Van Alstyne and Ruth Curto.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Dianne Eggleston of Cumming; children, Cheryl and David Bell of Cumming, Curtis and Beth Eggleston of Cumming; six grandchildren, Austin and Lauren Bell, Christian, Rachael, Stephen and Ryleigh Eggleston, all of Cumming; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earl and Eileen Eggleston of Colorado, Norman and Mary Eggleston of Colorado; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Dick Shorthill of Utah; and a number of other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 5, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Cumming with Dr. Bob Jolly and the Rev. Roger Williams officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Wednesday, Feb. 4, from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cumming Mission Fund, 1597 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA 30040.
