Carolyn Fowler Irvin, 73, of Atlanta and Lake Lanier passed away April 24, 2012. Carolyn was born Feb. 7, 1939, in Atlanta to Dorothy Thomas Fowler and James Henry Fowler. Carolyn, a rare Atlanta native, graduated from Grady High School where she was very proud to be a majorette.
Carolyn married her high school sweetheart, Tommy Andrew Irvin, in 1957. Together, they raised three children while moving in and out of the Atlanta area with Tom's career, finally settling on Lake Lanier. She and Tom established The Irvin Company family business in 1981. Carolyn was an avid ALTA tennis player for more than 20 years while living in Dunwoody and playing on teams at Blackburn Tennis Center.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Tommy Irvin; three children and their families, Janeen Irvin, Andy and Stacy Irvin, Eric and Jill Irvin; brother, Jim Fowler; six beautiful grandchildren, Drew, Jay, Michael, Sloan, Mary Ellis and Henry Irvin; and a large extended family that she cherished.
