Cathy Lynn Stone, 55, of Gainesville passed away peacefully Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, on a beautiful afternoon at her home on Lake Lanier. She left her earthly home surrounded by loving family and her loyal dog.
Cathy was born July 31, 1958, at Saint Joseph Hospital in Atlanta. She attended Hammond Elementary School, Sandy Springs and Ridgeview High Schools before graduating from Georgia State University.
She had resided in the Atlanta area for 30 years and had lived in Gainesville for the past 25 years. She was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Cumming and a member of the Gainesville Rotary Club and numerous real estate associations.
She loved nature and the outdoors. She loved animals and was a member of the Golden Retriever Rescue.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Stone.
She is survived by her parents, J.T. and Jo Ridings of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law, James and Stacy Ridings of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Sandie and Norman Loyd of Gainesville; nephews, Davis and Drew Ridings, Joseph Loyd; cousins, Danny and Reggie Ingram.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m. at the McDonald and Son Chapel. Interment will follow at Holbrook Campground Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, Aug. 27, from 5-7:30 p.m.
