Charles Wesley Holbrook, born Jan. 18, 1949, passed Jan. 13, 2015, at 4:45 a.m. surrounded by his loving family following an extended illness. He is preceded in death by his father, Luther Paris Holbrook.
Born and raised on Bethelview Road in Cumming, he was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Charles retired from General Motors after 35 years and was loved by all who ever knew him.
He is survived by his mother, Louise Mathis Holbrook; children, Paul and Tracy Holbrook, Matthew and Tonya Holbrook; siblings, Jerry and Judy Holbrook; grandchildren, Kerri, Mikey, Kayla, Trey, Daphne, McKenzie, Caleb, Madison, Sara and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Lilly Grace, Clara June and the newest baby Holbrook who will arrive in August.
Visitation will be at McDonald and Son Funeral Home Thursday, Jan.15, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Friday, Jan. 16, from 10 a.m. to noon. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. at Bethelview United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Bethelview United Methodist Cemetery.
We would like to thank Amedysis Home Health and Halcyon Hospice for the loving care and support they showed to Charles and his family during this time of transition. We would also like to thank McDonald and Son Funeral Home for the love and support of the family.
