Cherri Debra Collins, age 67, was born May 17, 1949, in Macon, to George and Florine Collins, passed away Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016, in Roseville, Calif., after radiation treatment for multiple myeloma which was discovered a week earlier.
She married Ray Oliver MacColl in Thomasville, in 1977 and had one daughter in 1979, Jennifer Georgine Kelley nee MacColl.
She attended Valdosta State University and received her Bachelor's and Master degrees in Education. She worked as a special education teacher in Thomasville, Lilburn, and Cumming, before her retirement in 2008. She lived on Little Mill Road in Cumming for most of her life, before moving to California to be near her daughter in 2012.
Cherri enjoyed restoring houses, reading, crafts, and doting on her granddaughters.
When she was younger, she used to enjoy exploring caves, and spending time on the beaches of Florida.
She is survived by her brothers, Denver and Stephen Collins; daughter, Jennifer; and granddaughters, Emma and Clara Kelley.
