Rev. Clay Cowart, age 91, of Cumming passed away Dec. 1, 2012. Clay was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Kate Lawson Cowart; six brothers; and one sister.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Harold Gravitt; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Doris Cowart; sister, Inez Howard; grandchildren, Michele Nix, Melanie Gravitt, Tammy Sheriff, Tyler Cowart; great-grandchildren, Emily, Ethan, and Molly Nix, Blakeley and Madison Sheriff, Morgan Gravitt; great-great-grandchildren, Nathan and Weston Gaboury; and numerous other loving relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 3, at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel at Ingram Funeral Home, with the Rev. Allen Dixon, the Rev. Harold Bottoms, and the Rev. Terry Cowart officiating.
