Clesta Pauline Blanton, 88, of Cumming died on August 11, 2016 at Northside Hospital Forsyth. Born in Edmonson, KY she was the daughter of the late Corby and Mable Rone. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Ethelene Bellar and Carlene Coomer; brothers, Ernest Rone and Glenn Rone; and children, Tommy Tomes, Jr., Carol Tomes and Sheila Nalley.
Clesta was a longtime member of Free Chapel. She loved to sew and work in her garden. Going to auctions to find antiques for her home was another passion. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her children, Deborah Tomes of Owensboro, KY, Phillip (Janet) Tomes of Cumming, and Todd (Lisa) Blanton of Dawsonville; siblings, Thurman Rone, Lola Mae Foley and Kelly Rone; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, Aug. 15, 2016 in the McDonald and Son chapel. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Aug. 13 from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, on Sunday, Aug. 14 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm and on Monday, Aug. 15 from 11:00 am until service time at the funeral home.
