Clifford Dennis Allen Sr., age 77, of Dawsonville passed away Monday, June 6, 2016, at his residence. Dennis was born in Gwinnett County during the summer of 1938, to the late Clifford and Luna Allen. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Scotty Williams; sisters, Rocelia Dover, and Shirley Caylor; brothers, James and Avery Allen; brothers-in-law, Carrol Dover, and Gene Holcomb. Mr. Allen is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Holcomb Allen of Dawsonville; children, Dean (Jeane) Allen of Cumming, and Denise (Scott) Williams of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Alyssa (Dakota) Lewis of Dahlonega, Josh Allen and Haley of Dahlonega, Allen Williams and Melody of Buford, Amber Williams of Dawsonville, Kayla Allred of Cumming; great-grandchildren, Nathan, Zachery and Aaron Tyler all of Dahlonega, Zeppelin Williams of Buford, and Alivia Allen of Dahlonega; sister and brothers-in-law, Jeanette and Phillip Allen of Cumming, Darlene (Daniel) Mygrant of Gainesville; very special nieces and nephews; special friends, Darle Hall, and Joe K. Smith both of Cumming; along with many other loving friends and relatives.
Services will be held Wednesday, June 8, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Everett Thompson and Dr. Scott Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, June 7, from noon until 9 p.m., and Wednesday, June 8, from 10 a.m., until the hour of service.
