Daphne Reams Wilkins, age 62, of Ball Ground passed away peacefully at her home Monday, Aug. 31, 2015.
Daphne was born in Milan, Tenn. Sept. 3, 1952 to the late Claude and Lucille Reams.
She is preceded in death by her loving nephew, Andrew Reams.
She is survived by her devoted son, Joshua Andrew and Kara Wilkins of Ball Ground; and daughter, Brittney Gayle and Chris Antkowiak of Alpharetta, who were the rainbows in her life; granddaughters Anna, Abby, and Ansley who were the pots of gold; sister, Charlotte Barger of Ball Ground; brother, Colonel Ted and Carol Reams of Johns Creek; niece, Julie and Ryan O'Connell; and numerous cousins.
Daphne was a caring and compassionate person who loved animals and the beach. Her kids and grandkids brought so much love and laughter into her life. She will be remembered for her kind, loving heart and soul and her passion for collecting sea shells.
Daphne has chosen cremation and simplicity.
The family will receive friends Friday, Sept. 4, from 1-2 p.m. at Darby Funeral Home in Canton for a celebration of her life.
Interment will follow at Macedonia Memorial Park. Her memory will be honored by the family in Mexico Beach, Fla., at a later date.
The family would like to thank Northside Hospital- Cherokee Staff and Doctors for the care and kindness shown to the Wilkins family during Daphne's recent stay.
