Mr. David Richard Cooper, age 85, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014. A native of Baxterville, Miss., Mr. Cooper was retired after a 23-year career in the U.S. Army where he served two tours of duty in Korea and one in Vietnam. Following his retirement he settled in Slidell, La., where he became a business owner.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Renate Cooper; two daughters, Brenda Cooper and Lynda Cooper-Ilse; two grandchildren, Joshua and Nadia; and his granddog, Coal.
Inurnment services, with Military Honors, will be held Friday, Sept. 12, at 2:30 p.m. (CDT) at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, Miss.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made, in Mr. Cooper's memory, to the Salvation Army or Special Olympics.
