Mr. Donald Crisler, 81, passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at Embracing Hospice in Cumming following an extended illness. His home was in Alpharetta. He was born in Maysville to Robert Garr Crisler and Thara Cornelia Richey Crisler on May 9, 1927. He served in the Army during World War II, 1945 thru 1947 in Bremen, Germany. He was a member of New Light Baptist Church in Cumming for about 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Horton Crisler; son, Keith Crisler; brothers and sisters, J.D. Crisler, Helen Little, Robert Crisler, Bernice Parker, Sue Jacques, Martha Crisler, Sadie Turner, Harold Crisler, John Crisler and Faye Jones.
Survivors include his daughter, Donna and Danny Silvers; grandchildren, Derin and Drew Silvers of Alpharetta; daughter, Debbie Gilleland; grandchildren, Caleb and Hannah Gilleland of Cumming; brother, Jack and Junan Crisler of Athens; many other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Waters, the Rev. Tim Biddy and the Rev. Johnny Watson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
