Donald H.A. Kurtzahn, born in Hillman, Minn., passed away May 4, 2009, in Atlanta. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He received his B.S. in Business from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minn., and his MBA from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. He worked for Hewlett-Packard Company for more than 35 years in a variety of business roles including region business manager/controller, and internal auditor. His interests included playing and coaching ice hockey, deep-sea fishing, golf, travel, listening to country music, reading, and he had a special love for St. Simons Island.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Jeanne Kurtzahn; and his sister, Harriet Beal.
Surviving are his daughter, Anne Marie of Atlanta; son, Michael Frank and daughter-in-law Meredith Mae of Cumming; brothers, Alvin Kurtzahn of Alexandria, Minn., Gary Kurtzahn of St. Michael, Minn.; sisters, Elaine Munson of Princeton, Minn., Shirley Beal of New Hope, Minn., Judy Lau of Maple Grove, Minn.; and other numerous relatives in the Minneapolis area.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm. on Friday, May 8, at Oglethorpe Hill Chapel with Dr. Rev. Natalie Adams officiating. Interment will be in Arlington Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Boulevard, Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852.
H.M. Patterson and Son Oglethorpe Hill in Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.
