Dow Reid, age 56, of Cumming passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010. Dow was a member of Pine Crest Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Dow Reid; grandparents, Clifford and Viola Reid, Bill and Ina Elrod; and brother-in-law, George Perkins.
Survivors include his parents, Loy and Shirley Reid; companion, Sherry Grier; daughter and son-in-law, Chevy and Jonathan Roper; grandchildren, Cody and Skylar Roper; sister, Donna Reid Perkins; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ricky and Carla Reid, Tony and Kim Reid; the mother of his children, Elaine Reid, all of Cumming; several nieces, nephews, a great-niece and other relatives survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 14, at 5 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Craig Richard, the Rev. Hugh Martin and the Rev. L.C. Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Thursday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
