Earnest Earl Gandy, 73, of Cumming passed away suddenly after a short illness Friday, July 10, 2009, at Embracing Hospice in Cumming. He was born in Cairo, and resided in Cumming, where he was a member the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville. He was a member of the Forsyth County Bee Keepers Club. He will be missed by many friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Katherine Gandy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Judith Gandy of Cumming; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Stuart Dyer of Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Ann Gandy of Cumming; brother, Irwin Anthony Gandy of Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Eileen and Corinne Dyer of Gainesville, Jessica Gandy of Atlanta.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 18, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville with the Rev. Paul Evans officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to the First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville's music program.
