Edith Hester Cochran, age 91, of Free Home passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014, at her residence. Mrs. Cochran was a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Old Hightower Baptist Church as well as a faithful member of the choir and WMU. She was also a part of the American Legion Auxillary. 
Mama's Hands
Mama was a strong woman in many ways.
Her hands were never idle and she took time to pray.
Her hands and heart were devoted to her husband, church, her five kids, and family she loved so much.
She farmed and cooked-we can't begin to list all the things she did or all the lives she touched. 
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Emma Hester; sisters, Irene Hester and Effie Cowart; brothers, Toy Hester and Roy Hester.
She is survived by her husband, E.W. Cochran of Free Home; daughters, Regina (Earl) Groover of Cumming, Rilla (Ronny) Price of Canton; sons, Ed (Becky) Cochran of Holbrook Campground, Coy (Brenda) Cochran of Free Home, Stanley (Rhonda) Cochran of Cumming; brothers, Grady (Inez) Hester of Kennesaw, Jack (Jackie) Hester of Cumming; sister, Ruby Milford of Macedonia; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 
several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, July 24, at 3 p.m. from Hightower Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gerral Richards and the Rev. Ronnie McCormick officiating. Mrs. Cochran will lie in state from 2 p.m. until the funeral hour. Interment will follow at Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 22, from 2-9 p.m., Wednesday, July 23, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Thursday, July 24, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at South Canton Funeral Home.
