Edwin Courtney Hudson III, 65, of Cumming passed away at North Fulton Regional Hospital in Roswell on Monday, Sept. 29, 2008. He was born in Wilmington, N.C., on March 20, 1943. His parents, Ruby Marie Hudson and Edwin Courtney Hudson Jr. preceded Mr. Hudson in death.
Mr. Hudson was an alumnus of Chicora High School in North Charleston, S.C., The University of South Carolina in Columbia, S.C., and The Woodrow Wilson School of Law in Atlanta. He served two years in the U.S. Army and was employed for 30 years at Lockheed-Martin Marietta as an accountant and attorney. Mr. Hudson enjoyed reading, genealogy, boating, crossword puzzles, his pets, his grandchildren, chatting with his friends online and his beloved Gamecocks.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rosemary S. Hudson; daughters, Karen Elizabeth Hudson (James Demetrius) Theodorou of Lawrenceville, Courtney Michelle Hudson (Timothy Andrew) Cooper of Suwanee; grandchildren, Luke Hudson Theodourou, Eleanor Grace Cooper and Cole Hudson Cooper.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at McDonald and Son Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home and at a reception following the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in memory of Edwin Courtney Hudson III to your local humane society.
