Elsie May "Nana" Gilbert, 72, of Cumming passed away Sept. 11, 2010, at Embracing Hospice in Cumming. Born in St. Petersburg, Fla., she was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Carey "Buck" Gilbert; parents, Clarence and Elsie Neumann; and son-in-law, Daniel Andrew Ligas.
Mrs. Gilbert loved and adored her family. She cherished her friendships near and far. She was very devoted to Central Christian Church and School. Above all she loved her Lord and Savior who she is now with forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Jo Ligas of St. Petersburg, Fla.; son, Jeffery A. Gilbert (Daniel B. O'Neil) of Palmetto, Fla.; daughter, Janet (Stan) Percival of Cumming; son, Jay Gilbert of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren, Carey Alexandra (Charlie) Kleinmetz, Ashley Alise Ligas (Francesco Ripple), Mackenzie Alana Ligas, Amy Elise (Jeremy) Curtis, Amber Joy Percival (Abram Wathen), Kristen Baust, Emily Cline, Jacob Gilbert, Jonah Gilbert, Amanda "Grace" Gilbert, Conner Gilbert; great-grandchildren, Andrew Tyler Brent, Alexis Taylor Brent, and Cali Baust.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 18, at 11 a.m. at Central Christian Church in St. Petersburg, Fla., with the Rev. Stan Percival officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mrs. Gilbert's name to Embracing Hospice, 8013 Majors Road, Cumming, GA 30041.
