Emmett Watson, age 89, of Cumming passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012. He was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of Forsyth County. He served in World War II in the Army Air Force. Emmett was preceded in death by his brothers, Lemuel Watson, Elmer Watson; and son-in-law, Vernon L. Strickland.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy Wheeler Watson; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry (Jean) Watson, Don (Linda) Watson; daughter, Flora Jean Watson Strickland, all of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, David (Melanie) Watson of Marietta; brothers and sister-in-law, Johnny Watson, Delmer (Kitty Sue) Watson; sister, Ann Sanford, all of Cumming; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and other loving relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 11, at 4 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Anthony Bailey, the Rev. Robert Martin and the Rev. Ruel Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
