Eva Evelyn Smithfield, 64, of Gainesville passed away July 21, 2012, at her home. Born in Lovington, N.M., she was preceded in death by her parents, James Thomas and Emma Evelyn Bridgforth; brothers, James and Leo Bridgforth; sister, Beth Williams.
Mrs. Smithfield was a member of the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming. She was interested in decorating, cooking and sewing. She had a rewarding career in paralegal and family mediation services. However, her real passion was her strong faith in God, her family and her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Cordy Smithfield of Gainesville; son, Ryan Smithfield of Carlsbad, N.M.; daughter, Angela (Rob) Blanton of Gainesville; stepdaughter, Trina Camp of Humble, Texas; stepson, Shawn Smithfield of Greeley, Colo.; brother, Stephen (Jenny) Bridgforth of Las Cruces, N.M.; grandchildren, Eddie, Robert, Austin, Boone, Abrey, Evan; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews also survive.
A prayer service and memorial mass will be held Wednesday, July 25, at 2 p.m. at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming.
