F. Lamar Clark, a native of Mobile, Ala., and resident of Alpharetta, passed away at his residence on Aug. 17, 2010. Mr. Clark was a resident of Woodbridge, N.J., for 37 years and retired as senior vice president of Hess Corporation. He was with the company for 45 years at retirement. Mr. Clark retired to Alpharetta to be near his grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and was affectionately known as "Papa". He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His kind generosity was well known to many people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Flossie Clark; and sisters, Sue C. Ryals, Karen C. Connell.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Ann H. Clark; loving son, Joe and daughter-in-law Nori; adoring grandchildren, Tommy and Angela Clark, all of Suwanee; sister, Gini C. Nelson (Ed) of Spanish Fort, Ala.; brother-in-law, John Hudgens (Debbie) of Creola, Ala.; uncle, Gerald Clark of Millbrook, Ala.; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation will be at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, Saturday, Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a graveside service at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mike Schmid officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Whispering Hope, c/o First Redeemer Church, 2100 Peachtree Parkway, Cumming, GA 30041-7497.
