Mrs. Floy Vernon of Cumming passed away Friday, Oct. 17, 2008. She was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church. Floy will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn Vernon.
Survivors include her children, Gary and Cindi Vernon of Dahlonega, April Vernon of Cumming, Laura and Kaj Nybom of Duluth, Vicki and Richard Cafferty of Winder; brother and sister-in-law, Wilbur and Ann Freeman of California; sister, Darlene and William Eller of Alabama; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, C.K. (Bud) Vernon of Brooks, Ivan and Sarah Vernon of Chattanooga, Tenn., Mrs. Dot Rendleman of Salisbury, N.C., Marcus and Melba Castleberry of Alpharetta, Joe and Phyllis Vernon of Cleveland, Lorine Vernon of Lithia Springs; three grandchildren, Scott Rueckel, Brian and Kevin Cafferty; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 20, at 4 p.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Joe Vernon and the Rev. Jonathan Startzbach officiating. Interment followed in Coal Mountain Cemetery.
Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
