Foster Lionel Potts, age 88, of Cumming passed away Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2012. F.L. retired after 28 years of service from Georgia Power and was the owner of F.L. Potts Appliance Service, a member of the Lions Club, an avid hunter, a member of the Sawnee Hunting Club, the V.F.W. and a U.S. Army veteran. He served in the Philippines during World War II. He was also a member of Cumming Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Jean Potts.
He is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Potts Bailey; grandchildren, Gretchen Bailey Christy of Cumming, Kevin and Caitlin Bailey of Lakeland, Fla., Bryan and Staci Bailey of Cumming; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Bailey McAlister, Carley Brookins Bailey, Ansley Duncan Bailey, Cayden Mackenzie Bailey, Chase Mack Bailey, Kacen Foster Bailey; sister, Eleanor Potts Jackson of Jefferson, Richard Dwight Potts of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Joseph Malcolm Potts of Conley; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. at Cumming Baptist Church, with Dr. Barry Crocker officiating. Entombment will follow at Sawnee View Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, Dec. 27, from 6-9 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 28, from 1-3 p.m. and 6-9 p.m.
