The Lord took an Angel through the gates of heaven on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014. French Mitchell Hatfield, age 49, of Dawsonville passed away suddenly. He was a 1982 graduate of Iaeger High School. He was a loyal and dedicated employee of American Boa for the past 24 years. His hobbies and talents included football, riding four-wheelers, playing with his grandchildren, playing guitar, and spending time at the farm.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Hatfield; and his brothers, Teddy and Michael Hatfield.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lucille Hatfield of Dawsonville; father, French Hatfield of Bluefield, W.Va.; sons, Ryan Hatfield (Ashley Frazier) of Clarksburg, W.Va., Scott Brown of Midway; daughter, Sarah Martin (Dean) of Meldrim; brother, Timothy Hatfield (Mona) of Gary, W.Va.; grandchildren, Landon, Logan, Ayden, Raylan, Crystal, Heather, Madison, Arien, and Mason; and cherished pets, Spunky and Smokey.
Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, Jan. 24, at 2 p.m. at the McDonald and Son Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, Jan. 23, from 7-9 p.m.
On Saturday, Jan. 18, we lost the most loving and trustworthy, son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Until we meet again you will forever remain in our hearts. You will be greatly missed.
