Gene A. Mauldin, 86, of Dawsonville passed away Friday, Aug. 22, 2014. Mr. Mauldin is a U.S. Navy Veteran who served on the USS Ranger in World War II. He was the co-owner of Mauldin Excavating and Grading and had a passion for farming. Mr. Mauldin loved to tell lifelong stories about his past, enjoyed swimming and playing pranks on others. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Martha Ethelene Mauldin of Dawsonville; son and daughter-in-law, Miles and Aurora Mauldin of Dawsonville; brother and sister-in-law, the Rev. Ray and Ruthell Mauldin of Ball Ground; three grandchildren, Gus Mauldin, Duris Walker, and John Markley.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 25, at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Scott Sorrells and the Rev. Kenny Sutton officiating. Interment followed at Mica Baptist Church Cemetery in Ball Ground.
