Harriet Barnett Shoemaker Reichard, 93, of Cumming passed away Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at her residence. She moved to Cumming in 2002 from New Bethlehem, Pa. She was a member of Cumming First Baptist Church and was very active with the Forsyth County Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Parker and Eva Irene Barnett; husbands, Ozni Henry Shoemaker, Alfred C. Reichard; children, infant girl and son, Herbert Leroy Shoemaker; sisters, Irene Magnus, Marie McEwen, Maxine Wolcott; and brother, Joseph Barnett.
She is survived by her daughter, H. Joanne and Jim Earley of Cumming; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Shoemaker of Distant, Pa.; sister, Ilene Crawford of Indiana, Pa.; brother, Byron Barnett of New Bethlehem, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 17, at 2 p.m. at Alcorn Funeral Home Chapel in Hawthorn, Pa. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, Sept. 17, from noon until service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cumming First Baptist Church, Forsyth County Senior Center or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
