Harry Richard Schofield, 84, of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville. He was born in Miami, Fla., and had lived in Forsyth County for the past 26 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Air Force reserves. Mr. Schofield retired from WESCO after 33 years. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Phyllis Schofield of Gainesville; children, Ruth (Daniel) Hill of Cumming, Thomas (Judy) Schofield of Keystone Heights, Fla., Bob (Sharon) Schofield of Tampa, Fla., Susan (Chuck) Roberts of Dahlonega, Steve (Susan) Schofield of Flowery Branch, John (Carren) Schofield of Kings Mountain, Ky.; brother, Thomas Frank Schofield of Chiefland, Fla.; sister, Beverly McEwen of Gainesville, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, Dec. 12, at 3 p.m. at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev. Shad Faulkner officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 11, from 5-8 p.m. at McDonald and Son Funeral Home in Cumming.
