Imogene Groover, age 86, of Cumming passed away Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011. Imogene was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was the "family doctor", had a great sense of humor, was a wonderful cook and loved the Atlanta Braves and her game shows. She was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin Groover; son, Billy Groover; and her parents, Ebb and Jewell Tallant.
Survivors include her children, Jean Gravitt and Doris Day of Cumming; brother and sister-in-law, Boot and Vera Tallant; sister-in-law, Marie Groover; longtime companion, Thomas Kervin of Cumming; grandchildren, Brian and Donna Gravitt, Tammy and Keith Pace, Tim and Jessica, Ben and Charlene Day, Amy and Luke Bagby; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 1, at 2 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Cumming with the Rev. Ricky Byrd, the Rev. Rex Byrd and the Rev. Bud Sutton officiating. Interment will follow at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Monday, Feb. 28, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, March 1, from 9 a.m. until hour of service.
