James Almon Weatherford Jr. was born May 26, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, and went to Heaven to be with his Savior on May 2, 2009. Jim was raised in Alabama and graduated from Glenwood High School in Phenix City. Jim attended Auburn University and graduated from University of Texas - Arlington in 1980. Residing in Dawsonville, he attended Browns Bridge Community Church where he was small group leader for seventh grade boys. Jim was president of Uromed, a medical supply company based in Alpharetta. Jim loved spending time with his family, boating and cheering on the Auburn Tigers.
Jim was highly regarded for his generosity, moral leadership and dedication to God and his family. In addition to being a loving husband, devoted friend and servant of God, Jim was a wonderful father whose spirit of strength and support will be greatly missed by each and every one of his children.
Jim was loved by his wife, Marcy Evans Weatherford; children, Lauren (22), Trey (20), Evan (18), Carson (10); father, James Almon Weatherford Sr. and mother, Darlene Boatwright Weatherford of Phenix City, Ala.; brother, Tom Weatherford and wife Wendy of Newnan; sister, Donna Marsh and husband Charles Marsh of Phenix City, Ala.; in-laws, Oscar and Katie Evans of Dahlonega; brother-in-law, Derek Evans; sister-in-law, Stacy Evans of Columbia, S.C.; nieces, Avery and Abby Weatherford, Ashley Evans; nephews, Allen, Andrew, and Aaron Marsh, and Jared Evans.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 7, at Browns Bridge Community Church in Cumming. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Cumming. The family will receive friends at Browns Bridge Community Church on Wednesday, May 6, from 6-8 p.m.
