Janice Calhoun Clark, passed away peacefully into her heavenly father's arms with her loving family around her bedside at her home in Cumming, on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016.
Janice was born June 23, 1954, in Toccoa, but lived most of her adult life in Cumming. She was the daughter of Leon and Flewellyn Calhoun. Janice was a registered nurse at Northeast Georgia Medical Center for 16 years and continued her nursing career until 2013. Due to health issues, Janice had to retire from nursing but continued to care for her family and others who were in need of her help. Janice had a servant's heart and a great love for her family. Janice was a lifelong member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
Janice leaves behind to follow her later to her eternal home, her husband, Gary Clark of 35 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason (Leigh) Clark, Jarrett (Falon) Clark, all of Cumming; sister, Joyce Ann Chappelear of Toccoa; grandsons, Brody, Bryson and Bennett Clark; granddaughter, Landyn Clark; nieces, Angie Chappelear and Kim Norton; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Shelia Clark, Paula and Roy Heard; she is also survived by a great number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother-in-law, Harry Chappelear.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 15, at 3 p.m. in Pleasant View Baptist Church with the Revs. Shad Faulkner, Jerry Frazier and Mickey Wheeler officiating. Interment followed in Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Homestead Hospice for their compassionate care of their loved one.
