Jimmy Dunkin, age 76, of Cumming passed away March 16, 2009, at Peachtree Christian Hospice. A native of Knoxville, Tenn., Mr. Dunkin attended Tennessee Tech. He served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. After relocating to Atlanta, he worked for Bank South which later became Bank of America. At his retirement he was vice-president of commercial lending at the Cumming office.
Mr. Dunkin was preceded in death by his parents, William M. and Lena Bible Dunkin. He was an extended member of several families who love and will always cherish his memory. Mr. Dunkin's caregivers during his illness were Phil and Joan Wright of Cumming, and Betty Spencer of Tucker.
According to his wishes, Mr. Dunkin was cremated.
A memorial service will be held at Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian Church in Cumming on Friday, March 20, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Deer Creek Shores Presbyterian Church where he was an active and devoted member.
Cremation Society of Georgia is in charge of arrangements.
