Jimmy Lamar Stone, age 76, a lifelong resident of Forsyth County passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012. He was a well-respected and faithful member of Shiloh United Methodist Church and loved his church family. Jimmy also loved gardening and antiquing. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty Day Stone; daughters and sons-in-law, Penelope (David) Pattillo, Cindy (Gary) Carter; son and daughter-in-law, Allen (Darlene) Stone; grandchildren and spouses, Brianna Zuber and Dan Twyman, Allen Pattillo, Ben Pattillo, Charlene and Mark Terry, Crystal Stone, Becca and Matt Hicks; great-grandchildren, Amber Cook, Adriana Terry; sister and brother-in-law, Bobbie and Alton Richards; brother and sister-in-law, Glendal and Ellen Stone; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and Morris McGinnis; sister, Phyllis Samples; brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Marion Stone; sisters-in-law, Dot Holbrook, Martha Day, Shirley Day; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home with the Rev. Hess "Doc" Hall and the Rev. Johnny Purcell officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens in Cumming. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, May 17, from 3-9 p.m.
