John Peter McBride, 78, of Cumming passed away Nov. 2, 2013, at St. Joseph's Hospital. Born in Jersey City, N.J., he was the son of the late John and Evelyn McBride.
Since retiring from a long career at IBM, Jack spent a lot of time playing golf, but his greatest love was spending time with his family and friends who meant so much to him.†If you added up all the hours of his fantastic life, most of them were spent on the ballfields and courts watching his children and grandchildren play and grow up. He will be truly missed by all of us.
Jack is survived by his beloved wife, Joan McBride of Cumming; children, Chris McBride of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Kitter Amitin of Cumming, Maggi McKnight of Cumming; and seven much-loved grandchildren.
Funeral mass will be held Thursday, Nov. 7, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home Wednesday, Nov. 6, from 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org.
