Dr. Joseph E. Knott, age 74, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2008, following a sudden illness. He was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. Dr. Knott was born in New York on Jan. 9, 1934. Having graduated St. Johns University School of Pharmacy and later becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic, he retired to Georgia in 1996. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving father, grandfather and friend to many.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Jodi Knott of New York and James and Betsy Knott of Duluth; daughter, Marleen Vasquez of Snellville; fiancé, Jane Westray of Cumming; grandchildren, Kara and Greg, Alexa, Lindsey and Olivia.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, Aug. 4, at 11 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Father Peter Rau and Rev. Tim Holland officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 2, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 3, from 2-7 p.m.
