Kay M. Breyer, age 70, of Dahlonega, a retired librarian from the Forsyth County Library system and the Lumpkin-Dawson Library system, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2015 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Born in West Hartlepool, England Dec. 7, 1944, she immigrated to Bloomfield, N.J. in 1956 with her parents, Alfred E. and Mary (Molly) Laverick, now deceased.
She is an alumnae of Bloomfield High School in 1962 and Douglas College, Rutgers University, where she received a Bachelor's degree, in 1966.
Kay loved animals having a horse, Sweetie, two dogs and two cats. She participated in local horse shows and was a dressage enthusiast.
She is survived by her husband, Walter Breyer; and her daughters, Dawn Breyer, Wendy Breyer, Penny Breyer Blackwell; son-in-law, James Blackwell; and her beloved grandson, Matthew Blackwell.
She is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Carol Wallace.
A celebration of Kay's life will be held Saturday, Aug. 8, at 3 p.m. at Dahlonega Funeral Home. Her ashes will be interred at Somerset Hills Memorial Park, Basking Ridge, N.J. Her friends and family are invited to attend the celebration of life and a reception to follow.
