Kenneth Anson Brown, 78, of Cumming passed away April 10, 2011, at Northside Hospital Forsyth. Born in Shelbyville, Ill., he was the son of the late Anson and Juanita Brown. His son, Kevin Kenneth Brown also predeceased him.
Ken served in the U.S. Army. He retired from General Motors Grey Iron Foundry after 33 years and was a UAW committee man. He was an avid woodworker, enjoyed fishing and was a dedicated sports fan. Ken seldom missed his kids and grandkids ballgames.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Loretta Elaine Brown of Cumming; children, Diane Kay (David) Ohmann of Cumming, Jeffrey David (Kelly) Brown of Cumming; brother, Edwin (Judy) Brown of Saginaw, Mich.; grandchildren, Zachary, Kelsea, Madelyn and Jacob; niece, Jodie McNalley of Saginaw Mich.; and nephew, David Brown of Saginaw, Mich.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 16, at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Cumming with the Rev. Dr. Kerry Maurer officiating. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Friday, April 15, from 5-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Organ Fund of Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1125 Bettis-Tribble Gap Road, Cumming, GA 30040.
