Mr. Lamar Davis, age 83, of Cumming passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at Tara Plantation. Mr. Davis was born April 27, 1930, in Coweta County, to the late Albert and Kate Davis. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was retired from General Electric after 33 years as an electrician. Mr. Davis attended Friendship Baptist Church in Cumming. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Nolan Davis.
He is survived by his children, Steve and Terri Davis of Douglasville, Bobby Davis of Lagrange, Jimmy Davis of Cumming, Becky and Ken Lee of Dacula, Janice and Jeff Hammack of Lawrenceville; a sister, Marianne Davis of Douglasville; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be held Friday, Dec. 13, at 2 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Thursday, Dec. 12, from 4-8 p.m. and Friday, Dec. 13, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
