The Guest Book is expired.

Larry Wayne Raughton, age 66, of Sugar Hill went to be with his Heavenly Father on Nov. 18, 2008, following a courageous battle with leukemia, surrounded by his family and loved ones. He was born in Opelika, Ala., and lived in Rome, before serving his country in the United States Navy.
His great love of the outdoors led him to become an avid fisherman and hunter, especially on camping trips with his son Jeff. His quiet nature and subtle wit naturally endeared him to many. He was retired from a self-employed graphic arts design business. He enjoyed working in his garden, and backyard barbeques with family and friends.
Mr. Raughton was preceded in death by his son, Jeff; and parents, Marvin Raughton and Sadie Bollinger.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Cathy; sisters, Margaret Law (Herb) of Birmingham, Ala., Susan Settlemyre (Alan) of Hickory, N.C., adoring mother-in-law, Bettie Deal of Cumming; brother-in-law, David Deal (Leslie) of Sugar Hill; sister-in-law, Lyn Jones (Rip) of Augusta; nieces and nephews, Tammy Carpenter (David) of Monroe, Suzanne Bruner (Bob) of Birmingham, Ala., Lesley Graham (Tyrone) of Hickory, N.C., Bobbie Jo Parkhurst of Hickory, N.C., Amy Deal and Nikki Deal of Sugar Hill, Robert Law of Dearing, Richard Parkhurst of Hickory, N.C., Jason Jones of Augusta; and his rambunctious Labrador Retriever, Maggie.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 11 a.m. at Ingram Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Ingram Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
