Lewis Elmer Payne, age 94, of Forsyth County passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2012. He was a member and deacon of Beaver Ruin Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved gardening and landscaping. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Bobbie Payne; granddaughter, Vicki Payne; grandson, Jason Bagley; son-in-law, Jimmy Bagley.
He is survived by his children, Sue (Gerald) Blackburn of Cumming, Robert (Janice) Payne of Forsyth County, Patsy Bagley of Cumming, Linda (Danny) Faulkner of Cumming, Roger (Rita) Shadburn of Dahlonega; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 31, at 11 a.m. at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dan Henderson, the Rev. Michael Millwood, and the Rev. Danny Orr officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Wednesday, May 30, from 3-9 p.m. and Thursday, May 31, from 9 a.m. until hour of service.
