Louis Charles Leopard, age 87, of Cumming passed away Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012. He was the husband of Alberta Campbell Leopard.

Louis was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Hagerstown, Md., the first son of Anna Mae Knauss Leopard Gogle and Arthur Leopard. His early years were spent at elementary and junior high school before attending the Milton Hershey School in Hershey, Pa., along with his brother, Richard Thomas Leopard.
Lou was an accountant with Norfolk Southern Railway in Washington, D.C., and Atlanta for almost 40 years before retiring in 1985. Before that he was a Master Sergeant in the 20th Armored Division of the U.S. Army during World War II. After military service, he settled in Washington, D.C., and graduated from Benjamin Franklin University School of Accountancy.
Louis was active in community affairs, tennis and baseball in each community in which he lived.
Louis Charles Leopard was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard T. Leopard (d. 2010), and Clyde W. Leopard (d. 1938).
Louis Charles Leopard is survived by his wife of 66 years, Alberta Campbell Leopard of Dawson Springs, Ky.; children, Mitchell L. Leopard (Beverly) of Lilburn, John A. Leopard of Atlanta; grandchildren, Darren O. Leopard (Jennifer) of Acworth, Eric W. Leopard of Lithia Springs, Jason A. Leopard (Laura) of Monroe, Kerrie L. Leopard of Douglasville; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn R. Leopard, Alexander C. Leopard, Luke D. Leopard, Andrew L. Leopard, Morgan K. Leopard, Logan C. Leopard; great-great-grandchild, Alyssa L. Leopard.
The family would like to thank all those who prayed and offered words of sympathy and support during Louis' hospitalization and passing.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 11:30 a.m. at the Berkmar United Methodist Church in Lilburn.
