Rev. Louis G. Lambert Jr., 80, of Cumming passed away Saturday, March 27, 2010, in Chelsea, Ala. The Rev. Lambert was born May 28, 1929, in Atlanta, to the late Louis Lambert Sr. and Eunice Deal, and was raised by J.G. and Eunice Stallings. He was a 1948 graduate of North Fulton High School and upon graduation enlisted in the United States Navy. Rev. Lambert attained a degree from Georgia State University and was then employed at Gordy Tire Company in Atlanta as a credit manager. He graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and thereafter served as pastor or associate pastor at numerous churches in Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio. Mr. Lambert served as chaplain for R.T. Jones Hospital in Canton and Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald for 10 years. He resided in Cumming and was a retired Baptist minister.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elizabeth Susan Justice Lambert; children, Mike (Susan) Lambert of Chelsea, Ala., Louisa (David) Holcomb of Cumming; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Holcomb, Zach Holcomb, Perri Lambert, Colby Lambert; brothers and sisters-in-law, Stanley (Connie) Lambert of Kennesaw, Larry (Lynda) Justice of Martinez, Calif.; niece, Emily Justice of Martinez, Calif.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 30, at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. J.R. Holcomb officiating.
