Mr. Marvin Lance Caine, age 77, of Villa Rica passed away Saturday, June 26, 2010, at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born in Cumming on June 12, 1933. He was an All-Star pitcher for the Cumming and Chestatee Baseball League. He served in the United States Armed Services during the Korean Conflict and was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. He was employed with Sears for 30 years. After leaving Sears, he opened Caine Tire Company in Atlanta. He enjoyed golf, traveling and prided himself in being a wonderful gardener. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica and the Fellowship Sunday school class.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Weaver Caine; sons, Lance (Karen) Caine, Joseph (Jay) Griggs; daughters, Marlynn (Ed) Stillions, Dawn (Joseph) Tuggle; grandchildren, Kayte (Matthew) Mosley, Christopher Stillions, Kayla Caine, Brianna Caine, Ashleigh Tuggle, Nicole Tuggle; brother, Julian (Ethel) Caine; sister, Etheleen Ledford; and her wonderful caregiver, Ramonda Brownlow; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Villa Rica with Mr. Jack Kelly officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Ben Pilgreen. Interment will follow at Melrose Hills Memorial Park in Villa Rica. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home Wednesday, June 30, from 6-8 p.m. and at Jones-Wynn Funeral Home in Villa Rica Thursday, July 1, from 6-8 p.m.
