Mary Ellen Mullins Wiggins, age 92, of Cumming passed away on Monday, Dec. 15, 2014. Mary Ellen was born Aug. 4, 1922, to the late John M. and Annie Mary Griffin Mullins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Wiggins; sister, Virginia Mullins Craven; and brother, John M. Mullins Jr.
Mary was raised in Meriwether County. She earned her college degree at Georgia College. Mary Ellen was a nurturer all of her life. She enjoyed playing golf and bridge, telling stories and sharing her wit and wisdom with her family and friends. She touched many lives and will be lovingly remembered by many people.
She is survived by her son, Robert Lawrence Wiggins; son, Thomas C. Wiggins Jr.; daughter, Diane Wiggins Hall and their spouses; grandchildren, Tom Harris, Catherine Diane Wiggins Loftin, Thomas Christopher Wiggins and their spouses; great-grandchildren, Matthew Loftin, Jack Harris, Kate Harris, Caroline Harris, Lauren Wiggins, Lilly Wiggins and Thomas Harris.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Benton House Memory Care of Sugar Hill for the loving attention and care they provided for Mary and the family for the past several years.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your family's chosen charity in memory of Mary Ellen's sharp wit and sometimes brutal honesty. A quiet private family memorial will be held to celebrate Mary Ellen's wonderful life.
