Michael Jack Hester, age 45, of Canton passed away Oct. 10, 2008, at his residence after a courageous battle with Lou Gehrig's disease.
Funeral services were held Oct. 12 at 2 p.m. at Grace Chapel Church of Christ in Cumming with Minister Danny Cline and Minister Kurt Picker officiating. An additional service was held Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. at Big Creek Baptist Church in Alma with Pastor Tommy Davis and Pastor Bill Stone officiating. Interment followed at the Big Creek Baptist Church's cemetery.
Michael was born July 29, 1963, in Marietta. He lived in Atlanta for 26 years. He graduated from Ridgeview High School in Atlanta. He attended South Georgia College in Douglas where he played on the golf team under a golf scholarship. He also attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro. Michael was an avid golfer, hunter, outdoorsman, and wood maker. He was president of Hester and Associates Inc. and owner of Hester Farms Landscaping Inc.
Michael was a loving husband, father, son and brother.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 20 years, Kealey Davis Hester of Canton; sons, Cody Michael Hester and Tyler Jackson Hester of Canton; daughter, Amanda (Mandy) Ellen Hester of Canton; mother and father, Jackie and Jack Hester of Cumming; sisters, Michelle Hester Griffith of Watkinsville, Maria Hester Aligheri of Cumming; mother and father-in-law, Margie and Gene Davis of Alma; brothers-in-law, James Griffith of Watkinsville, Tim Aligheri of Cumming, Tommy Davis of Alma, George Lane of Jacksonville, Fla., Edwin Lewis of Alma; sisters-in-law, Angie Davis of Alma, Gina Lewis of Alma, Lisa Lane of Jacksonville, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cora and W.M. Cline, Emma and Lee Hester.
