Michael R. Ondecker passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, March 7, 2012, in Alpharetta. Mike grew up in Akron, Ohio, graduated from St. Vincent-St. Mary High School and attended the University of Akron. Mike began his career with General Tire in Akron, later moving to Raleigh, N.C., with IBM. He was relocated to Atlanta and resided in Alpharetta. Mike continued to be a fan of all Cleveland sports teams no matter where he lived.
He is survived by his loving parents, Robert and Nancy; siblings, Lynn Harrell, Kim Etters, Stephen (Debbie) Ondecker, Mary Beth (John) Kerr; and his nieces and nephews, Kelly, Robbie, Rachel and Samantha. Mike also leaves behind his many friends, especially those from the class of 1977 (they know who they are).
Visitation will be held Friday, March 16, from 4-7 p.m. at Hummel Funeral Home in Akron, Ohio.
The family wishes to thank Anthony (Aleah) and Andrew for all of their support and care over the past few years.
